May. 4th, 2005 03:45 pmWe went to INS yesterday to get interviewed. It went well except for waiting nearly 3 hours for the interview. We got asked NO questions about the relationship. The closest we got was "Are you Robert Kew? Did you marry Briana?"
Did you know that if you sponsor your spouse to get them permanent residence, you are financially responsible for them even if you divorce? If I divorced Bob and he ended up on the dole, I would have to pay the government whatever he cost them. Wow. Makes the Green Card movie even stupider.
I took Bob to Crystal's for lunch. Crystal's is a pizza place designed to appeal to kids but classier than Chuck E. Cheese. They have a late victorian theme going on, so there's quite a bit of late victorian, early 1900's art. There's also a movie theater, games, a library with old pictures and lots of odd tchatkes. We ate in the library and looked through the books. We may go back and read some of them! Bob loved it. I'm going to be stuck with going there periodically now.
We went to Mom's house last night and spent some time attempting to clean up her shower. The inside is now clean except for the moldy caulk that needs to be removed. I managed to slip while trying to get myself up and fell on my ass. Note that I was probably about 6 inches from the floor when I slipped. I have a lovely bruise developing now. Bob told me "Sit down!" at least twice while I was slipping - which tells you how long I was trying to avoid the inevitable. I must have been a sight.
