I have been listening to the librivox recording of "Little Women". These are notable because the recordings are free, all done by volunteers. Not only that, but each chapter is read separately, by different volunteers, which makes for a rather ... variable ... experience. Most of the readers are good, but I've had at least one chapter done by someone with a strong lower class British accent and no idea how to pronounce some of the words. The reader for the current chapter somehow reminds me of Katherine Hepburn. If Katherine Hepburn had a mouth stuffed with cotton and spoke in a monotone.
