May. 4th, 2006 01:18 pm10 Things that Start with the Letter Z, and Why they are Significant to Me (in no particular order)

Zyada (of course) - my online name since the first day I registered on a web site (straight dope, natch). It has been my stage name even longer. I found this name while trying to find how to translate "moontiger" into another language; at this point I was looking into a Hindu-English dictionary. Zyada means "too much" in hindi. I chose it because I want people to see me dance and go "Wow, she's too much!"
Zills - finger cymbal that are commonly played by belly dancers as they are dancing. I'm an ok player.
Zaftig - a nice way to describe my "build", although my body is starting to edge into rubenesque
Zed - this is not the way you pronounce the last letter of the alphabet, no matter what Bob says!
Zion National Park - a beautiful national park that I've been to many times. One of the enchanting aspects of the park is the names used to designate different structures: Virgin river, Angel's Landing, the Great White Throne, and the Three Patriarchs are just some of the things found in the park.
Zoos - I love zoos, especially the Fort Worth Zoo. Our zoo is well known in several circles for breeding and preservation programs.
Zoloft - I used to beat myself over the head all the time. Now I don't.
Zacatecas - a state in Mexico that always sounds dirty to my. "Man, she's got some big zacatecas"
Zig-zag moderne - an art deco style that is very common in Fort Worth Architecture. So-called because zig-zags were a common design element.
Zyzygy - often the last word in the dictionary. And how can you not like a word like that?
Zzzzzzzzzz-- Ah, sleep.
Nearly forgot - post here if you'd like me to give you a letter.
