Apr. 10th, 2006 04:43 pmSaturday, we
Got up at 6:30 AM
Headed for the sample sale (donuts along the way)
Spent nearly an hour at the sample sale (and I could have gone in for twice as long!)
Went to the Ft. Worth Botanical Garden plant sale. (Got there at 9:30 and there were already sold out areas. It opened at 9)
Bought plants, performed imitation juggling act getting them to the car.
Ate brunch at Ol' South Pancake House. Note: According to Bob,corned beef hash tasted fine but looked like cat food. You mean it's not supposed to look like that?
Went to downtown FW for Bob to take some pictures.
Went home
Planted flowers
Rested (IOW, sat at the computer playing snood)
Went to two hardware stores to find 8 foot poles to secure climbing rose. While at the second store, we witnessed a robbery - guy ran out an emergency door, hopped into the open driver's side door of a waiting SUV, and took off.
Fortunately, the second store had the poles and there were plenty of employees around to help us after the excitement died down.
Came back home, switched cars (we used the truck to get the poles).
Ate at Posado's for Bob's birthday supper. I didn't tell the waitress, either.
Came home, crashed.
The last of the daffodils are blooming. My front yard is covered with buttercups, several of the roses are blooming. The spirea and the indian hawthorne are blooming. The climbing rose is covered in blossoms. The hollyhocks we planted out front Saturday already had a bloom opening Sunday morning.
My lawn may look like a patch of weeds, but the flowers make me happy.
