Crap - burned by a UL.

You remember that message I posted about fostering animals? It's bogus. medeaschild got this message when she called:

"Hi there ~ We have been getting a mass amount of applications for cats and kittens who are hurricane victims. There are incorrect postings going on about our shelter in Jackson MS on the internet. We actually only have only a handful of animals turned in by their owners who evacuated from the hurricane and are unable to care for them any longer. There is someone from up north who thought we were the ones receiving all of these stranded animals. Apparently they got their organizations mixed up and we are in the process of rectifying it. We may have an influx in the future, but right now we are not desperate for foster homes. The Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah is actually the group who is going down in the heart of New Orleans getting over 100 animals a day. Go to their home page and you will see how you can help them if you would indeed like to adopt a hurricane animal. We are supposed to be receiving some of their animals, but we haven't rec'd them yet. We do have over 200 animals currently at our shelter, but that is our average number that we have any day of the year, not because of the hurricane. Apparently this is someone who wants to help, but sent out distorted information across the web. We do not provide transportation, but apparently the person who placed the message on the web will provide it if someone gets a hurricane animal. If there is a particular animal on our website you would like to adopt, please let us know."

So, don't call or email, and pass on this info if you passed on the request. I'm sure that the group doesn't need any more work than they already have.
